All parliamentary parties have proposals that lower the consumer price index.

The vast majority are about the same thing: energy prices.

These include tax cuts on petrol and diesel, reduced electricity tax or electricity price support.

But there are also proposals to reduce the tax on food.

- The proposals lower consumer prices in the short term.

But in the longer term, they can actually contribute to increasing inflation, by increasing demand, says Kristina Lagerström.
