A new strategy aimed at China for the first time this year at the NATO summit led by Europe and the United States Since the concept is being discussed, invitations from Korea and Japan are unusual.

A diplomatic expert explained, "Security cooperation between the US and Japan goes beyond strengthening deterrence against North Korea and is partly involved in the US-China competition in East Asia under the pretext of regional security."

Earlier, China and the United States exchanged sharp arguing over South Korea's participation in the NATO meeting, arguing that expansion to Asia, including Korea, is not allowed, and that it is not a matter to seek China's consent.

The presidential office explained, "This is to expand and deepen the network in terms of comprehensive security, so there is no need to interpret it as a major shift towards anti-China and anti-Russian policies."

However, the task of how to elaborately respond to the expected backlash from China and Russia does not appear to be a light task.

President Yoon's wife and Kim Kun-hee will also accompany her on this itinerary.
