An NHK questionnaire conducted on candidates for the Upper House election highlights the differences in the way of thinking of each party in foreign affairs and security policy, beyond the boundaries of the ruling party and the opposition party.

In this election, diplomatic and security policies have been implemented in response to Russia's military invasion of Ukraine, the launch of ballistic missiles by North Korea, and China's intensification of its expansion into the East China Sea and South China Sea. It has become one of the issues.



In a questionnaire conducted by NHK to candidates for the Upper House election,

? 38%


answered "da", 34% answered "should be further strengthened",


and 15% answered "too strict".



Comparing the average number of responses by political party,


the degree of "should be further strengthened" was particularly high for the Communist Party, and

Democratic Party, the


Liberal Democratic Party, and the


NHK Party are leaning toward the "should be stronger" side.



On the other hand,
