Hamdan bin Mohammed acknowledges an increase in the neediest groups by 58%
The Supreme Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs in Dubai, during its first meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, decided to increase support for the neediest groups and increase for those registered with the Department of Community Development and a program for family empowerment and the immediate start of developing residential neighborhoods model for citizens.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed said in a post on his Twitter account: I chaired the first meeting of the Supreme Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs, during which we decided to increase support for the neediest groups by 58 percent, to reach the budget of 438 million dirhams.
And an increase of 20 to 67% for those registered in the community development and financial empowerment program for families, adding that “priority is given to senior citizens, divorced women and widowed breadwinners.”
His Highness added: We have decided to immediately start developing the model residential neighborhoods for citizens in Al Mizhar, Al Khawaneej 2, Al Barsha and Hatta.. the neighborhoods will provide 500 economic opportunities for the residents of the neighborhoods, and will provide facilities that will make them the most beautiful and best neighborhoods in the region.. and we have decided to start developing a comprehensive electronic platform to provide services to citizens in Dubai.
His Highness continued: We have formed 7 urgent work streams within the committee, and we have included 10 departments and bodies within the tracks, and we have 60 days to raise a comprehensive vision of the social sector in Dubai, which will be the main priority for everyone..
