The Civil Guard has completed the so-called

Brave

operation by dismantling a criminal organization dedicated to hashish trafficking, in the area of the Strait of Gibraltar, through the use of recreational boats and jet skis.

A total of 51 people have been investigated and 20 of them have been arrested.

In addition, four tons of hashish, 122 grams of cocaine, five pneumatics, four jet skis and five vehicles have been seized.

The investigation began in September of last year when the members of the Benemérita became aware of the existence of a

network that introduced hashish through the area of the Strait

.

Most of those involved lived in Ceuta, although they had the collaboration of several residents in Algeciras, the place of destination of the illicit merchandise for its subsequent distribution.

The organization

used both marinas and the beaches of the Costa del Sol and Campo de Gibraltar

to carry out the shipments, using recreational boats and jet skis.

The

modus operandi

was almost always the same.

A ship left the coast of Morocco, loaded with narcotics

.

A point of contact was established and recognized by means of a marine buoy.

Later, another boat sailed there and collected the drugs.

The second option that they put into practice had to be with the use of recreational boats that, given their appearance of legality, sailed between the marinas of Ceuta and the Gibraltar countryside region.

In total

, 11 entries and searches have been carried out in various homes and farms in Algeciras

, Los Barrios and in the autonomous city of Ceuta.

As a result of the same, the guards intervened abundant computer equipment, mobile telephony and diverse documentation that is being analyzed.
