The 'suspicion of Seongnam FC sponsorship' is that the advertising sponsorship that companies gave to Seongnam FC is not 'high-value' money.

Our reporters obtained an official letter sent by Doosan E&C to Seongnam City in 2014, which contained an explicit expression that if they allowed a new office building to be built on the site of the hospital, they would consider sponsoring Seongnam FC.

This is an official letter sent by Doosan E&C to Seongnam City on October 31, 2014.

The purpose is to change the use of a hospital site that had been left unattended in Jeongja-dong, Bundang-gu for about 20 years into a business facility.

If the use changes and the new building of the Doosan Group is built, part of the first floor will be provided as a public facility or it will be actively considered to support Seongnam FC.

This hospital site has been requested by Doosan for a change of use for over 10 years, but has been rejected due to controversy over 'preferential treatment'.

However, 12 days after this official letter was sent, Doosan E&C would review Seongnam FC's donations, and Seongnam FC created an internal guideline that pays 10-20% bonuses to those who attract sponsorships such as advertisements.

In July of the following year, Seongnam City announced plans to build a new building for Doosan Group and relocate its affiliates through a change of use, and in October of that year, Seongnam FC and Doosan E&C signed an advertisement agreement worth KRW 5.3 billion.

In accordance with the bonus guidelines, in December, Seongnam FC employee Mr. Lee received 30 million won for his contribution to attracting Doosan E&C advertisements.

Legal circles are pointing out that Doosan's official statement can be a source of evidence that both sides were aware that there could be a cost between changing the use of the hospital site and sponsoring Seongnam FC.

In response, Doosan E&C said that it is difficult to answer because it is a matter under investigation.
