“As of June 22, 2022, 33 countries in five WHO regions have reported 920 possible cases of severe acute hepatitis of unknown etiology in children,” the organization said in a statement.

It is noted that half of the cases of hepatitis of unknown origin were detected in European countries.

The WHO assesses the risk at the global level as moderate.

Earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, said that there were no cases of hepatitis of unknown etiology in Russia.

According to her, in the last three months, a decrease in the incidence of all hepatitis has been recorded.
