Two people were killed and several people seriously injured in shootings overnight from Friday to Saturday in central Oslo, Norwegian police said.

According to Norwegian media, several bars were targeted, including at least one gay establishment.

Following "clear" recommendations from the police, "all events related to Oslo Pride are cancelled", in the first place the pride march scheduled for this Saturday afternoon, write the organizers of the event in a press release published on Facebook.

"The police are investigating the facts as a terrorist act," she said in a statement.

A suspect was arrested after the shootings which occurred around 1am.

The police clarified a little later that it was a Norwegian of Iranian origin.
