He stated this on his Telegram channel in response to the information that has become known that the United States is planning negotiations with the G7 countries to ban the import of new gold from Russia.

“The sanctions war against Russia is aimed at long-term financial and economic exhaustion of the country.

Individual measures taken within the framework of this war may contain exceptions, as in the case of the European embargo on Russian oil, or, depending on the degree of need for the West, be subject to adjustment.

However, a revision of the general course, no matter how much the Western media state the ineffectiveness of sanctions against Russia, is not expected,” the senator said in a statement.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that US President Joe Biden at a summit in Germany intends to agree with the leaders of the G7 on a ban on the import of new gold from Russia.

The US Treasury is expected to issue a ban on gold imports on June 28.
