A man in his 60s drove early in the midsummer morning into a tree with his car outside Sjutskär. Witnesses sounded the alarm after hearing a loud bang, when the motorist collided with a tree.
Just before lunch on Midsummer's Day, the police announce that the man has died.
He was taken by ambulance to hospital and had serious injuries.
His relatives have been notified.
The car is seized by the police to investigate any faults that may be the cause of the accident.
