“The Plenum of the Legislative Assembly will discuss and decide on the dismissal of the constitutional President of the Republic in accordance with Part 2 of Article 130 of the Constitution of the Republic on the basis of a petition of at least a third of the members of the National Assembly,” reads a video message from the press service of the Parliament on Twitter.

The petition of the deputies, as noted, is associated with a serious political crisis and mass protests.

It is specified that the votes of 92 of the 137 members of the assembly will be required to approve the impeachment.

Earlier it became known that the deputies of the Congress of Peru were unable to gain votes for the adoption of a resolution on the impeachment of President Pedro Castillo.
