The report pointed out that the structure of China's scientific and technological human resources mainly has four characteristics:

Second, over the years, China's scientific and technological human resources have presented a pyramid-shaped educational structure distribution with the college level as the main, followed by undergraduates and the least postgraduates. Third, the characteristics and trends of China's scientific and technological human resources are obvious, with people aged 39 and below accounting for about three-quarters.
Fourth, the rapid growth of female scientific and technological human resources, the proportion of which will continue to increase, and the gender ratio will become more balanced.
