This was reported by the Prime agency with reference to the PFR department in Moscow and the Moscow region.

As the agency was told in the Pension Fund, a month after the pensioner reaches the age of 80, the amount of payments will be doubled.

However, as specified, invalids of the first group, as well as those who receive social benefits in case of loss of a breadwinner, cannot apply for a pension increase.

In addition, pensioners who have reached the age of 80 have the right to receive compensation for personal care.

Only persons receiving unemployment benefits are not entitled to the compensation payment.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed a 10% increase in pensions for non-working pensioners from June 1 and a 10% increase in the minimum wage and the cost of living.

Labor Minister Anton Kotyakov said that the average pension after indexation will reach 19,360 rubles.

He also said that the Pension Fund of Russia (PFR) will begin to deliver pensions, taking into account an additional indexation of 10% from June 3.

Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that a 10% increase in pensions for non-working pensioners would require the allocation of about 600 billion rubles by the end of the year.
