• A new survival game arrives for a month on the disused military base of Francazal, near Toulouse.

  • 20 Minutes

has tested for you this secret mission populated by puzzles, zombies, and which allows you to set foot in buildings as emblematic as they are inaccessible in normal times.

  • The mission, to save the world, is noble and breathtaking but, sensitive souls, think twice.

Save the world from the deadly virus of a mad scientist and his zombified guinea pigs in

Resident Evil

mode .

But not confined to his console, really sweating, screaming at the top of his lungs and being rattled, shaken by nervous giggles, in the back of a military truck launched at top speed.

This is what the new survival game “Zone 101” exposes you to, which has taken up residence for a month in the disused barracks of the Francazal military base, near Toulouse.

The creators are repeat offenders of Immersive Game.

The same people who, last summer, haunted the castle of Bonrepos-Riquet, whose residents can testify that the howls of terror that rose in the night were in no way artificial.

The concept, in "Live Action", is identical: escape game-style puzzles to solve - or not, when you're too busy running away from creatures -, around fifteen actors very invested in their roles as villains, and a nugget of heritage to discover.

The team convinced Toulouse Métropole that this would be the last opportunity for the general public – and for many the first – to enter the original, top-secret buildings of the military base.

A panic attack and a door to fix

Listening only to his courage, the small team of

20 Minutes

, tested for you this heroic mission, with sneakers but forgetting the trellis.

In a reckless and exclusively female team, we faced an unreliable and drunken homeless man in his bunker, endured the sarcasm of the diabolical researcher with a strong German accent, freed a distant cousin of Hannibal Lecter and then played cat and mouse with a zombie who thinks he's Thor and loves to smash the toilets with his big hammer.

Revealing the traps and tricks of the adventure would not be charitable to future players.

But know all the same that we lost a teammate on the way due to an anxiety attack.

The opportunity to discover that the living dead can be helpful and to understand why "Area 101" is prohibited for children under 14 and not recommended for children under 16.

Our disciplined little troop succeeded in its “extraction” by often forgetting objects that had to be recovered and taking those that should have been left behind.

Well, a thousand apologies, but also broke down in fear a condemned door that was not part of the game.

Difficult to imagine at the time of the issue that the nightmare lasted two long hours.

And, frankly, we had a lot of fun testing this game. By day, let's be clear, so with a thoughtful thought for the brave ones registered for the night sessions.
