The G7 summit begins Sunday in the Bavarian Alps in Germany with the heads of state and government of the seven most industrialized countries.

As in each edition of this meeting, organizations and civil society are mobilizing for a radical criticism of the summit or to put forward their demands which they consider insufficiently taken into account by the leaders of this world.

A major event is being held this Saturday in Munich about a hundred kilometers from Elmau Castle where the G7 begins on Sunday.

Abandonment of fossil fuels, fight against the disappearance of species, more social justice, against hunger in the world: around fifteen organizations called together to demonstrate on Saturday in the Bavarian capital.

The police are counting on 20,000 participants, and there were 35,000 seven years ago during the previous G7 organized at the same place.

“

Finally begin to put in place a social and ecological transformation,

explains Alfred Eibel, from Attac Munich who participated in a counter-summit

The solutions are on the table.

The young student Katharina was one of the youngest among the participants of the anti-globalization counter-summit on Friday: “

This is the last moment when we can act to change the system and to act against the climate crisis.

And if we don't change things now, we will never change them.

But it was not the crowd of the big nights in this intercultural center in Munich regrets Anne Jung of the organization Medico International, also a regular at anti-G7 protests: “

I am a little disappointed that so few people are taking part.

The problems are always more important and those which are ready to mobilize are less and less numerous.

I believe that many have fallen into resignation.

In Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a few kilometers from the G7 summit in the Alps, an anti-globalization camp has been set up, closely watched by thousands of police officers.
