China News Service, Beijing, June 23 (Xinhua) -- President Xi Jinping presided over the 14th BRICS Leaders' Meeting by video in Beijing on the evening of June 23.

Xi Jinping pointed out that looking at the world, the Cold War mentality and the haze of power politics persist, and traditional and non-traditional security threats emerge one after another.

Some countries are trying to expand military alliances to seek absolute security, coercing other countries to choose sides to create camp confrontation, and ignoring the rights and interests of other countries to pursue self-reliance.

If this dangerous momentum is allowed to develop, the world will be more volatile.

BRICS countries should support each other on issues concerning each other's core interests, practice genuine multilateralism, uphold justice, oppose hegemony, uphold fairness, oppose bullying, maintain unity, and oppose division.

China is willing to work with BRICS partners to promote the implementation of the global security initiative and find a new security path featuring dialogue rather than confrontation, partnership rather than alliance, and win-win rather than zero-sum, so as to inject stability and positive energy into the world.
