Taking into account the above, in February, Russians expect the first shortened working week of the year - from 20 (Monday) to 22 February (Wednesday).

This is due to the fact that February 23 (Thursday) is Defender of the Fatherland Day, and February 24 became non-working due to the postponement of the day off on January 1.

In the second working week of March, citizens will receive a day off on Wednesday, March 8, in connection with International Women's Day.

In May, the holiday weekend will traditionally consist of two blocks.

First, the Russians will rest from April 29 to May 1 (from Saturday to Monday) in honor of Labor Day.

After that, there will be a four-day work week: May 2 (Monday) - May 5 (Friday).

From May 6 (Saturday) to May 9 (Tuesday), the weekend on the occasion of Victory Day will last.

The third working week of June will be shortened, since Russia Day - June 12 - falls on Monday.

Before it starts, the Russians will rest for three days, from June 10 (Saturday) to June 12 (Monday).

The final block of the long weekend in 2023 is scheduled for November - three days (from Saturday, November 4 to Monday, November 6) - on the occasion of National Unity Day.

“The proposed postponement of days off complies with the provisions of labor legislation on the duration of a weekly uninterrupted rest of at least 42 hours,” the press service of the ministry emphasized.

Member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Svetlana Bessarab, in a conversation with RT, assessed the holiday schedule in 2023.

“Indeed, to the delight of the Russians, December 31 falls on a Saturday, which means that from December 31 to January 8, Russians will rest, gain strength, travel with the whole family, go on a visit.

As for the favorite spring holidays, unfortunately, International Women's Day will be celebrated on Wednesday, and the holidays will not be extended, but our men are lucky, they will rest, walk, gain strength from February 23 to February 26, due to with the fact that the holidays falling on the New Year holidays will be postponed to February 24 and May 8.

In May, we will rest from April 29 to May 1, and then from May 6 to 9.

In June - from June 10 to 12, and in November - from November 4 to 6, ”she said.

The parliamentarian also hopes that the Russians will be able to adequately dispose of the additional time allocated for rest.

“14 calendar non-working holidays, which are established by the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, is a fairly large number, even compared to other European countries, and in this regard, Russians are always lucky.

I think that we deserve these days of rest and will spend them with dignity, ”said Bessarab.
