Neither one nor two, he jumped into the Loire.

According to

Ouest-France

, a 19-year-old young man, suspected of a car theft in Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire, wanted to escape the gendarmes by jumping into the Loire on Tuesday.

The soldiers had just arrested him on leaving the court, where he was to be tried in other theft cases.

The young man first pretended to let himself be apprehended and then finally carapated by diving into the Loire, just in front of the courthouse.

The three gendarmes went to rescue him because the individual could not swim… The young man was injured, as was a gendarme.

He was taken into custody because he is suspected of stealing a car on May 12 from a parking lot in Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire.

That day, two men with a balaclava had assaulted the owner of a car to seize it.

Pursued by the police, the criminals had ended up abandoning the vehicle.

The driver had been arrested, but not the passenger.

It is therefore the latter who was arrested (in difficulty) on Tuesday.
