Families Zinédine Zidane, grandfather at the age of 49
Not all the gold in the world, in this case the
billionaire checkbook
of the Sheikh of Qatar, have managed to convince Zidane, who was
a great merengue legend
as a player and as a coach, to be the
new coach of the French PSG
.
His refusal has returned this week to Zizu, as he is nicknamed, to the
headlines of the sports press
when he turns 50 this June 23.
And it is that since he ceased as
coach of Real Madrid
in 2018, after achieving his 13th Champions Cup, Zinedine Zidane has not sat on a bench as a coach again.
Something that shocks, because since he decided
of his own free will
to leave the merengue team, he has not stopped repeating that he maintains
his passion for football remains intact
and he still believes that he can "contribute many things as a coach".

While he continues to ponder his football future, Zidane and
his wife, the beautiful
Veronique Lentisco
,
a brunette of Almeria origin with whom he
has been married for 28 years,
have dedicated themselves to
enjoying life
almost as boyfriends, since their
four children,
all footballers , they already fly alone through the football universe.
Their base of operations is still Madrid and
their chalet
in the exclusive Conde Orgaz urbanization, but in the summers they escape to
Ibiza
, where they own two houses, and they also usually end up in
El Chive,
a district of Almería where Veronique's parents were born and have moved to
built another house
.
They also spend weekends in
their mansion in San Ramón,
in the San Juan reservoir, or travel to
Algeria or France
to visit their respective families.

Luxuries that neither Zidane nor his wife could enjoy in their childhood, since they
came from humble families of emigrants.
The soccer player's parents, Smail and Malika, left Aguemune, the Algerian Berber village where they were born, and moved in pursuit of
a better life in Marseille,
settling in the Castellane neighborhood, full of fellow refugees, where their five children were born.
The third, Zinedine Yazid, exhibited
exceptional skills with the ball since he was a child,
which is why the Cannes team signed him when he was only 14 years old.
Veronique's parents were originally from El Chive, a tiny
village in Almería
where her neighbors know her as "la Vero".
The economic scarcity made Antonio Fernández and Anita Ramírez
decide to emigrate to France,
settling in Rodez, where
their two daughters,
Veronique and Sandrian, were born.
The patriarch found work in the
municipal slaughterhouse
and initially they were homeless, their roof being an
old abandoned hospital.

The beautiful Veronique began to work as a
majorette
at the Rodez celebrations, although her dream of being a dancer came true when she won a
scholarship to study dance in Paris.
There, one night in 1989, when she was only 19 years old,
she met a young 17-year-old footballer in a nightclub, and
a passionate
crush
arose between them that led them to live together a short time later.
Veronique put aside her dream of being a dancer to
follow Zizu in his ascending
football career, first at Girondins de Bordeaux, and then at
Juventus de Turín,
where
Florentino Pérez,
president of Real Madrid, appeared in 2001, and for 11,500 million euros. pesetas
(70 million euros)
took his jewel, who signed a succulent contract of
900 million clean pesetas per season
. (5.4 million euros).
Zidane was already a football legend when the Gauls conquered the World Cup in 1998, and received the Ballon d'Or, also crowning himself an
idol of Madrid
when he scored an anthological goal in Glasgow in 2002, which gave the meringues
their ninth Champions League.
They say that much of the blame for Zidane signing for Madrid was his wife, who
longed to live in Spain,
the land of her parents, and El Chive, the Almeria district where she spent her summers.
His children grew up here,
four boys, Enzo, Luca, Theo and Elyaz, who made their first steps in the
lower categories of the merengue club,
registered with the surname of his mother, Fernández, to avoid media pressure.
Today Enzo, 27, who was the father on May 19 of a daughter with his partner, Karen Gonsalves, plays for the Rodez Aveyron team, in the
French second division;
Luca, 23, is a
goalkeeper for Rayo Vallecano.
Theo, 19, plays for Castilla and the little one, Elyaz, 15, in Real Madrid's C youth team, but has already managed to stand out in the French U-17 team.

At the moment, and after giving pumpkins to the almighty Qatari sheikh, Zidane is still focused on continuing
to enjoy life and his family,
especially now that he has
become
Sia's grandfather, with whom he drools.
But he does not lose sight of his professional future, because according to rumours, his dream is to become a
coach of the French team.
