He stressed that the US would not want the impact of restrictions on the ability to buy food from Russia.

Earlier, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said that the EU plans to work with its partners, including the UN, to prevent disruptions in food supplies to the global market caused by sanctions.

Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said that Moscow is ready to cooperate in the food sector if the US wants improvements in the agricultural market.
