“We have to take into account that Western sanctions, among other things, are aimed at disrupting Russian-Turkish air traffic,” he said.

According to Pilipson, the departments of the two countries are making every effort to ensure that tourists traveling to Turkey do not experience any inconvenience or problems.

He also stressed that tourism is one of the most significant areas of cooperation between the two countries.

“In general, we are satisfied with Ankara’s promises to create all conditions for Russians in Turkey for a full and safe holiday, we keep the issue under priority control,” he concluded.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak informed that Russia and Turkey had agreed to start accepting the MIR card in Turkish hotels and to increase its use at ATMs.
