“The court ruled to cancel the decision of the Tverskoy District Court, which chose house arrest for the accused Zuev, and to satisfy the prosecutor’s office’s request for a preventive measure in the form of detention,” TASS quotes the text of the court’s decision.

On June 9, the second cassation court overturned Zuev's arrest and sent the decision for a new trial.

The court canceled the November decision of the Moscow City Court, by which Zuev was transferred from house arrest to a pre-trial detention center.

The court considered that the detention in the pre-trial detention center was unlawfully chosen.

Earlier it was reported that Zuev is accused of embezzlement of over 21 million rubles.

According to investigators, in 2018, together with ex-deputy minister of education Marina Rakova and former deputy general director of the Foundation for New Forms of Education Development Yevgeny Zak, he conspired to steal money from the RANEPA.
