“A government decree was signed on another decision of the president - this is a reduction in the rate on preferential mortgages from 9 to 7%,” RIA Novosti quotes Mishustin.

He clarified that the size of the subsidized loan will remain at the same level.

“Let me remind you, 12 million rubles - for Moscow and St. Petersburg, Moscow and Leningrad regions, and 6 million rubles - for other Russian subjects.

The difference between the preferential rate and market banks is reimbursed by the state,” Mishustin concluded.

On June 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a plenary meeting at the SPIEF, proposed to reduce the preferential mortgage rate to 7%.

Later, the relevant draft resolution was submitted to the Cabinet.
