This is stated in a message in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Digital Development.

The ministry said that Tele2 subscribers received SMS messages about an increase in the cost of unlimited tariffs by more than one and a half times.

It is noted that the Ministry of Digital Transformation asked Tele2 for a rationale for a sharp price increase.

The ministry added that if it is found that the tariffs have changed unreasonably, the operator will receive an order to bring the tariffs back to the previous level.

“If, based on the results of the analysis, it is found that the level of tariff changes does not correspond to the growth of the consumer price index, the FAS will conduct an antimonopoly investigation,” the department added.

Earlier it was reported that a number of telecom operators in Russia began to charge for new SIM cards.
