In Orange (Vaucluse), a family has been in mourning and misunderstanding since the death of their two-year-old cat.
The animal died on Monday June 13 as a result of his injuries to the rectum, indicates Le Dauphiné Libéré.
According to a veterinarian, he suffered "a traumatic rectal tear caused by a hard object that was pushed 3-4 cm deep".
The object in question would be a piece of wood.
A complaint lodged
When his owners saw him in pain and bleeding on his way home, they immediately called a vet.
The animal underwent an operation, but died a few hours later.
The angry family decided to file a complaint "for unnecessary mistreatment of a pet" at the police station on Friday.
She hopes to do justice to their pet.
She is also trying to find witnesses to the attack on the cat.
