The process started on June 10th.

As indicated in the extract from the register of legal entities, the decision of the Board of Directors dated March 16, 2022 to open liquidation proceedings became the basis for the commencement of liquidation.

The Board of Directors of IStories made this decision after the Ministry of Justice recognized IStories Fonds* as an undesirable organization on the territory of Russia on March 5, 2022.

According to Law No. 272-FZ, those organizations whose activities "may pose a threat to the foundations of the constitutional order of the Russian Federation, the country's defense capability or state security" are recognized as undesirable.

Cooperation or support of such organizations is subject to administrative and criminal liability.

After the recognition of "Important Stories" as an undesirable organization, the publication announced that the legal entity would be liquidated.

“The non-profit organization IStories Fonds will be liquidated.

We are also forced to stop accepting donations so as not to expose you to the risk of fines and criminal prosecution, ”writes editor-in-chief Roman Anin ** on March 9.

The board of directors of IStories Fonds includes journalist Roman Anin and Olesya Shmagun, who, according to the decision of the Ministry of Justice, are recognized as foreign agents.

They are also co-founders of the organization.

The management of the publication also includes the vice-president of the Stockholm School of Economics Anders Alexanderson.

Board member of Important Stories is Latvian journalist Sanita Jemberga, editor-in-chief of the investigative publication Re:Baltica.

Now they are all in the status of "liquidators" of the legal entity.
