Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid agree to dissolve the Israeli Parliament and call elections

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister

agreed on Monday to dissolve Parliament.

Lapid will take over as prime minister, an Israeli official confirmed.

A vote will be held in parliament next week ahead of Lapid's inauguration as prime minister, the official said.

Both leaders are expected to make a statement in the next few hours.
