The franceinfo channel said that an agreement had been "found" on Monday between the Riviera formation, where Galtier is under contract until 2024, and the Parisian club, eager to turn the page Pochettino.

On its website, the sports daily L'Equipe also announced common ground between the two parties, "very close to an agreement around a sum close to 10 million euros so that Christophe Galtier joins the champions of France".

The amount indicated would correspond to the compensation paid to Nice in compensation for the last two years of contract not honored by the 55-year-old coach, champion of France with the Lille team in 2021 before taking control of the Rouge et Noir.

A source close to the Parisian club, contacted by AFP on Monday evening, however, took care to deny any agreement, without hiding the "many ongoing discussions" concerning the coaching position.

The daily Le Parisien, generally well informed about the life of PSG, also refuted any agreement and evokes a "liar's poker game".

For its part, OGC Nice could not be reached immediately to comment on this press information.

After having prolonged their star striker Kylian Mbappé in extremis, PSG and its owner the Qatari fund QSI have begun an overhaul of the sports management by dismissing the Brazilian sports director Leonardo and installing in his place the Portuguese adviser Luis Campos, with whom Galtier collaborated in Lille.
