report , the driver was stuck in the passenger compartment of his Renault Mégane, after going off the road in the middle of the forest.
He was discovered by a lumberjack.
Alerted, the firefighters and the Smur went to the scene to extract the victim from his vehicle.
A delicate operation, the car being on the roof.
Finally, the man was rescued and transferred to the Reims University Hospital, in absolute urgency.
No network
The motorist spent three days and three nights stuck in the thickets, while the temperatures had risen sharply.
He was in an area not covered by a telephone network and remained invisible from the secondary road.
His family had launched an appeal on social networks to try to find him and the gendarmes were preparing to do the same on Saturday.
According to the firefighters, the young man would not have survived an additional day in the cabin.
