In the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone in Futian, Shenzhen, a batch of scientific research achievements from Hong Kong and the Mainland have been applied and transformed here.

Shenzhen and Hong Kong jointly launched a policy package, taking the lead in breaking down obstacles in the connection of rules and mechanisms, and built a platform for Shenzhen and Hong Kong to synergize their scientific research advantages.

Zhou Jiangtao, Mayor of Futian District, Shenzhen:

In the upcoming Shenzhen branch of the Hong Kong Science Park, we take the lead in Shenzhen-Hong Kong collaborative review and collaborative transformation. The breakthrough provides strong support for the construction of an international technology innovation center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

At present, five Hong Kong universities have set up research institutes or laboratories in Shenzhen Hetao; as of June this year, more than 800 Macao technology companies have settled in Hengqin, Zhuhai; at present, in the Greater Bay Area, Guangdong’s financial research funds can be directly allocated across borders For the use of Hong Kong and Macao institutions, the customs clearance of large-scale scientific research equipment implements 24-hour reservations for "instant reporting and delivery, on-site inspection", institutional innovation, and driving the overall improvement of scientific and technological innovation capabilities.

Just last week, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cross-border Wealth Management and Asset Management Center was launched in Guangzhou.

From "Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect", "Southbound Connect" for bonds, to "Cross-border Wealth Management Connect", and then to government and commercial services, one-stop service has been gradually realized. Over the past three years, the interconnection of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in the financial and market fields has continued to advance.

RMB has become the largest settlement currency for cross-border receipts and payments between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

While continuing to improve the level of integration, the Greater Bay Area has taken multiple measures to build a talent hub, implement cross-border professional qualification recognition for professionals from Hong Kong and Macau, and launch the “Bay Area Social Security Link”, which makes the flow of talent elements between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau more convenient.

Yuan Minzhong, Development Commissioner of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government:

Hong Kong has experience in marketization, internationalization and legalization, and can provide very good talents to develop in mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area.

We launched an employment program for youth in the Greater Bay Area last year, and now more than 1,000 relevant youths are already working in the Greater Bay Area under the program.

Xiao Zhiwei, President of the Macau Development Strategy Research Center:

The Greater Bay Area has a very strong market, which provides a good opportunity.

From the employment of young people, from the development space of Macao enterprises, etc., all can be combined into it.

Let us Macau have a relatively large space for development.

Everyone, including the SAR government and the private sector (or people), have confidence in this aspect.
