While the government has compiled this month's monthly economic report and maintains the keynote judgment of the economy that "there is a movement to pick up", the outlook is on the risk of a downturn due to rising raw material prices amid the prolonged situation in Ukraine. It points out that caution is required.

The government held a meeting of relevant ministers on the 20th to compile this month's monthly economic report.

Regarding the keynote judgment of the economy as a whole, we maintained the judgment up to last month that "there is a movement to pick up."

Since April, the same decision has been made for three consecutive months.

By individual item, we raised the judgment that "housing construction" is "steady", reflecting the increase in demand for rental and condominiums.

In addition, as the strict movement restrictions associated with the re-expansion of the new corona infection have been relaxed in Shanghai, China, and the amount of imports from China has recovered, the judgment of "import" has also been raised to "stopping decline". ..

On the other hand, the judgment of "production" was lowered, saying that "the movement to pick up is stalled" due to the decrease in production of automobiles due to the shortage of parts.

Regarding the outlook, based on the declining trend of the number of infected people in Japan, the expression "watch the effects of infectious diseases" that had been included so far has been deleted.

On the other hand, concerns include the prolonged situation in Ukraine and the impact of restraining economic activity in China, and it is necessary to pay attention to the risk of a downturn due to rising raw material prices.
