Two people died after the accident of their car which burst into flames in the shock, early Saturday evening.
It is not known if they died before the fire in their vehicle.
The accident occurred in Saint-Gilles, a town in Gard located about twenty kilometers from Nîmes.
When firefighters arrived, the fire had spread to nearby vegetation.
It took the intervention of about fifty firefighters to overcome it.
The gendarmerie investigation made it possible to identify the victims.
They were a young woman who was celebrating her 25th birthday and a young man who was 24 years old.
