It's a small event.

Thanks to the success of Ségolène Amiot (Nupes) with 55.11% of the vote in the 3rd constituency (Nantes-Saint-Herblain) against outgoing MP Anne-France Brunet (Together!), the former stronghold of Jean-Marc Ayrault turn left.

Five years ago, Anne-France Brunet (LREM) won with 56.26% of the votes in the second round against Martine Gourdon (LFI).

A historic result at the time in this 3rd constituency which had been held by Jean-Marc Ayrault (Socialist Party) since 1988...

Six mandates in a row for Ayrault

The former mayor of Nantes had chained six terms in a row.

During his last term, Ayrault was replaced from July 20, 2012 to May 1, 2014 by Jean-Pierre Fougerat (PS) during his duties as head of government.

Following her return to government on February 11, 2016, a partial legislative election was organised, the seat being vacant due to the death of Jean-Pierre Fougerat on February 21, 2015. Karine Daniel (PS) was therefore elected MP on April 24, 2016.

In the meantime, in this 3rd constituency, outgoing MP Anne-France Brunet (Together!) left weakened after being accused of violence and harassment by a former parliamentary assistant.

The facts, which date back to 2018, were revealed in early May, a few days before Anne-France Brunet filed a complaint for slanderous denunciation.
