Hernandez commented on his defeat.

“Today, the majority of those who voted chose another candidate.

As I have repeatedly said, I accept this result.

This must be done if we want strong state institutions.

I sincerely hope that this decision of the citizens will benefit everyone, ”he said. 

Former head of state Ivan Duque congratulated the new president on his victory.

Earlier it was reported that, according to the results of counting 79.63% of ballots, Petro was ahead of its competitor by more than 3%.
