The Macronist coalition Together!

has largely lost the absolute majority of 289 seats in the National Assembly at the end of the second round of legislative elections on Sunday, facing the alliance of the united left Nupes which becomes the main opposition and a very strong breakthrough of the National Rally.

Olivier Véran, the Minister for Relations with Parliament, assured that the presidential camp, which only has a relative majority at the end of the second round of the legislative elections, would "build a majority very quickly so that it becomes absolute in the National Assembly".

"We are going to build a majority very quickly so that it becomes absolute in the National Assembly, we will see the conditions of this majority", observed Sunday the former Minister of Health in duplex on TF1.

“The task will be more difficult”

"Other groups will allow us to obtain the quota of votes sufficient to present the reforms and have the texts adopted," he said.

"The task will be more difficult than with 350 deputies, but I cannot imagine for a second that a majority cannot emerge in the coming weeks on the purchasing power law".

"We are the party which obtains a relative majority tonight, that is to say that we are the only party able to build a majority in Parliament in order to be able to transform and reform the country", noted Olivier Véran.

"That does not mean that we do not hear the message which is in the ballot box, with a weight of the extremes which is quite significant, but we have deadlines, the law of purchasing power, the increase in the point of index for civil servants, the increase in retirement pensions, the tariff shield", he listed.
