The first round of the 2022 legislative elections had already set the tone in the 1st district of Strasbourg downtown.

With 38.07% of the vote for the Nupes candidate, Sandra Regol, ten points more than Alain Fontanel (Together!), things seemed to be off to a bad start for the presidential majority.

It is now confirmed: Sandra Regol, the national No. 2 of the Greens won this election with 51.5% of the vote, or 900 votes more than her competitor and will sit in the National Assembly.

A revealing result of the rise of the Nupes in Strasbourg.

In the presidential election, Jean-Luc Mélenchon came out on top in the first round with 36.84%, or more than 15 points difference with Emmanuel Macron.

“The attacks have been continuous, particularly this last week, but we were elected with a project of rupture but above all of the future”, welcomed Sandra Rego on the set of France 3 Alsace.

"Results that reveal the fragmentation of our city with very different concerns depending on the entire neighborhoods that expressed themselves, sometimes at 70% for me, sometimes at 70% for Sandra Regol", underlined Alain Fontanel who aspires to find a united city.

Surprise in the 2nd circo

In the 2nd constituency, Emmanuel Fernandes (Nupes), who had already come first in the first with 36.89% of the vote, was elected MP with 816 votes ahead of outgoing MP Sylvain Waserman (Modem-Ensemble!).

On the other hand, Sébastien Mas (Nupes) failed against outgoing deputy Bruno Studer (Renaissance-Ensemble!) in the 3rd district of Strasbourg.

A score without appeal from the candidate of the presidential majority who gathered more than 54% of the votes.

In the end, Strasbourg remains an island where we vote differently from Alsace.

The presidential majority made an excellent score in the two departments.

Of its fifteen constituencies, eleven were indeed won by its candidates.

A historic score also explained by the decline of the Republicans, which has only two elected officials.

On the three constituencies of Strasbourg where the candidates competed Together!

and Nupes, including two deputies leaving La République en Marche, two out of three (the 1st and the 2nd) were lost by the presidential majority.
