In the 1st constituency of the Alpes-Maritimes, the outgoing deputy (Les Républicains) largely beat the candidate supported by the mayor of Nice and the presidential majority, Graig Monetti.
He leaves for a fourth term, with 56.33% of the vote, and undoubtedly reinforced ambitions for the next municipal elections in the fifth largest city in France.
“The Macron system has collapsed, including in Nice”, reacted the very right-wing 56-year-old parliamentarian, ex-candidate for the LR presidential nomination.
