• President of the National Assembly, Richard Ferrand was beaten by Nupes in Finistère.

  • Elsewhere in the department, the presidential majority retains six of its eight seats.

  • In Brest, the ex-LREM Jean-Charles Larsonneur, who joined the Agir Ensemble group at the Assembly, also retains his seat by a short head.

The failure is all the more scathing for Richard Ferrand, beaten by Nupes in the 6th district of Finistère.

Because elsewhere in the department, the presidential majority and all the other outgoing deputies held their rank in the second round of the legislative elections.

In the 1st constituency (Quimper), Annaïg Le Meur is back for a new mandate.

The vice-president of the Economic Affairs Committee in the Assembly won with 53.9% of the vote against the candidate of the Nupes Grégory Lebert.

In the 3rd constituency (rural Brest), the outgoing MP Together!

also triumphs without trembling (57.9% of the vote) against the representative of the left Pierre Smolarz.

A newcomer to the political landscape in 2017, Sandrine Le Feur is also continuing her tenure at the National Assembly.

With 54.4% of the vote, the organic farmer won against the head of the Nupes list Sylvaine Vulpiani in the 4th district (Morlaix).

La Nupes beaten by a hair in Brest

Triumph also of the presidential majority in the 5th (Landivisiau) where the outgoing Graziella Melchior wins with more than 54.5% of the vote in front of Nathalie Sarrabezolles, candidate invested by the left and former president of the departmental council of Finistère.

Same scenario in the 7th constituency (Douarnenez) and in the 8th constituency (Quimperlé) where outgoing deputies Liliana Tanguy and Erwan Balanant retain their seats with respectively 52.2% and 52.43% of the vote.

It was finally in Brest, in the 2nd district, where there was the most suspense.

Former LREM before joining the Agir Ensemble group in the Assembly, the outgoing deputy Jean-Charles Larsonneur won with only 118 votes in advance (50.16%) against the Insoumis Pierre-Yves Cadalen (49, 84%).
