But who is Philippe Ballard, this journalist and former presenter on LCI, who has since become a figure of the RN and elected this Sunday deputy for the second district of Oise?

He had created the surprise in April 2021 by announcing his candidacy as head of the RN list in Paris for the regional elections in Ile-de-France, before becoming a regional councilor.

Spokesperson for the RN, Philippe Ballard was also communications director for Marine Le Pen in his race for the Elysée.

He presented himself at the launch of his campaign as "the people's candidate against the elite".

From radio to TV

Initially a radio journalist (Sud Radio, France Info, RTL), Philippe Ballard, 62, joined LCI in 1994.

Over the years, he became a regular news presenter on weekday mornings and weekends, then in the evening.

From 2019 to 2021, he presented “LCI tout info” on weekend afternoons.
