Citizens gathered at the fountain near the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, to cool off by soaking their feet in the water.



In France, where record heat waves continue, the highest temperature reached 42.9 degrees.



Unprecedented heatwaves have imposed a ban on outdoor activities in France and a ban on indoor events where there is no air conditioning.

Spain is also groaning in the heat.



At resorts such as Seville and Cordoba, the temperature rose to 44 degrees,
