The President of the United States, Joe Biden, 79, suffered a fall this Saturday while trying to get off his bike.
However, he got up quickly and assured that he was fine.
He would have fallen laterally, when stationary, after having stuck his shoe in the pedal, equipped with a toe clip.

However, he got up quickly and assured that he was fine.
During a bike ride in Rehoboth Beach, a small seaside town where he regularly spends the weekend in his villa on the ocean, the president fell around 9:40 am, according to a journalist from the presidential pool.

Joe Biden had wanted to stop to speak to passers-by and journalists who were waiting for him, but said he had trouble dislodging his shoe from the pedal, equipped with a toe clip.
He fell sideways, while his bike was immobilized, according to a video of the journalist.
The president wore shorts, blue sneakers, a bicycle helmet and gloves.
No visible traces of the fall, such as scratches, were visible, according to the journalist.

He then briefly exchanged with passers-by, then journalists, before getting back on his bike and then leaving about five minutes later.
"As the president said, his foot got stuck in the pedal as he got off the bike, and he's fine," a White House official said.

"No medical help is needed," the official added.
"The President looks forward to spending the rest of the day with his family."
He was accompanied on his walk by his wife, Jill Biden, who did not witness the fall, having continued on her way.
The couple celebrated their 45th anniversary this weekend.
The health of all American presidents is closely scrutinized, but particularly that of Joe Biden, the oldest American president in office.
In November 2020, already elected but not yet president, the former vice-president of Barack Obama had fractured his foot while playing with one of his two German shepherds.
A year later, in November 2021, his doctor had pointed out during a health check that Joe Biden was "in good health", "vigorous" and "fit" to carry out his function.
