A number of Palestinian shepherds were injured as a result of an attack by settlers in the Al-Maar’at area, west of Jericho in the West Bank, while Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz decided to freeze a decision to increase the quota of residents of the Gaza Strip from work permits in Israel.

Witnesses reported that a group of settlers, calling themselves "the hilltop youth" from the Meviot settlement, attacked the shepherds of the Arab Al-Malehat family on Saturday evening, and severely beat them under the protection of the occupation forces.

These forces arrested 5 of the family's youth during their confrontation with the settlers, while the injured were taken to Jericho Hospital for treatment.

work permits

On the other hand, Gantz decided to freeze a decision to increase the quota of residents of the Gaza Strip from work permits in Israel.

And the website of the Coordinator of Israeli Government Activities in the Palestinian Territories published, in a brief statement, that the decision to freeze the issuance of 2,000 additional permits to residents of the Gaza Strip came in response to the launch of a rocket at dawn Saturday from Gaza on the Ashkelon area.

The Coordinator of Israeli Government Activities confirmed that Gantz decided last week to increase the quota of permits for work and trade purposes in Israel by an additional two thousand, bringing the total quota of permits for economic purposes from the Gaza Strip to 14,000.

Gaza bombing

The occupation army said in a statement on Saturday that its warplanes bombed a number of targets belonging to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip, noting that the raids targeted weapons production workshops in a military site, and 3 other military sites were targeted.

On the other hand, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem confirmed that the bombing of Gaza is an extension of the aggression that targets all Palestinian land in Jerusalem, the occupied interior and the West Bank.

And earlier last night, the artillery of the occupation army bombed with a number of missiles the vicinity of the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing in the northern Gaza Strip, and an Israeli reconnaissance plane targeted agricultural land near the security fence in the town of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip with two missiles.

In response to the Israeli raids, the Palestinian resistance yesterday fired heavy machine guns towards the settlement of Netiv Asra, north of Beit Lahia.
