It all started with the assistant nurse Elisabet Bergdal at Kronan's nursing home in Luleå feeling that it had stagnated a bit at work and looking for new challenges.
She trained in welfare technology, and now the accommodation is equipped with lots of games and technology stuff.
According to Elisabet Bergdal, there is now more life and movement in the accommodation, and both the elderly and the staff get something out of it.
- I think it is important for you to be stimulated and for young people to want to come here.
Will be introduced in more accommodation
Kronan's nursing home is something of a test bed when it comes to technology at care and nursing homes in Norrbotten.
Elisabet Bergdal believes that it is a completely different situation today when it comes to older and digital technology.
Those who move into nursing homes demand wifi and use mobile phones and computers.
She therefore believes that the gadgets that are on the Crown will soon be in many more places.
- It will come, says Elisabet Bergdal.
A meeting place
But the technology gadgets at Kronan's care and nursing homes are not just for those who live there.
The nursing home is a meeting place where seniors from other parts of Luleå are welcome.
- I would like to meet people and do things like this, games and so on, says Tord Eriksson who lives on Bergnäset.
