• Imputation Mónica Oltra says that she does not resign because she has to "defend democracy" against "fascism"

  • Justice The TSJ imputes Mónica Oltra for covering up her ex-husband's abuse of a minor under guardianship

The 'president' of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, has recognized this Friday that the accusation of the vice president of the Generalitat Valenciana and Minister of Equality, Mónica Oltra, for the alleged cover-up of the

abuses of her ex-husband to a minor

under guardianship opens a "complex" situation that needs a "time for reflection" that has opted to address it "from serenity".

"You have to reflect and make decisions," she has expressed.

This is how Puig has stated in statements to the media late this Friday before participating in a PSPV-PSOE event in

Aielo de Malferit

(Valencia), and after Mónica Oltra has ruled out resigning after her indictment.

Puig has considered that now, with this "new milestone" from the legal point of view that Oltra's imputation supposes, "a time for reflection and decision-making" and "analyzing the situation" of Oltra opens up.

In this sense, he has mentioned the mayor of Valencia,

Joan Ribó

, -who has considered that next week there should be a meeting in Compromís to "mature the decision" on Oltra- to express that he "agrees" with him on the need to establish "a period of reflection" because "the interest of the project -of the Government of the Botànic- is a general interest that has been very positive for the Valencian Community".

Asked about a possible dismissal of the vice president, Puig has opted to address the Oltra situation with "serene" since

"legal and political times sometimes do not coincide",

as is the case "at the moment".

"I understand the media and opposition urgencies, but they are not those of the Valencian Community, which today are in another area", he has expressed, while adding that "we must reflect".

In any case, the head of the Consell, who has defended that the vice president "has given many explanations in parliament and in the media", has guaranteed that he

will "always" make decisions from "the general interest

of the citizens of the Valencian Community ".

"EACH ONE IS THE OWNER OF HIS WORDS AND HIS SILENCES"

Regarding the position of the Compromís co-spokesperson,

Àgueda Micó

, -who stated this Friday that if Puig were to dismiss Oltra "it would obviously mean a break" with the Botànic project-, the 'president of the Generalitat and general secretary of the PSPV has insisted on that he is in a "space of serenity" although "everyone when they are in politics receives legitimate pressure".

"Each one says what he thinks and each one is the owner of his words and his silences", he has sentenced her.

Finally, asked if he has spoken with Oltra about his accusation - the vice president this Friday has assured that

he has not spoken with him

-, he has assured that he speaks "continually" with her, although he has not specified if he has done so on this subject.

In any case, he has stressed that "it is not a problem of solitary confinement."
