“We believe that this is a gross violation of the protocols for the accession to the EU of the Baltic states, the rules of free transit,” he said in a video message on Telegram.

According to Alikhanov, from 40% to 50% of the range of goods, including building materials and metals, will fall under the ban on goods for transit through Lithuania.

Lithuanian Railways previously notified Kaliningrad Railways of the termination of the transit of a number of sanctioned goods from June 18.

In April, Alikhanov said that EU sanctions regarding restrictions on road transit through the EU do not apply to communications with the Kaliningrad region.
