The Swedish Championship week is a collection of championships in a large number of different sports that are held in a new city every year, winter and summer respectively.
For one week, Swedish senior championships in different sports are held in one and the same city.
Five cities are still relevant for 2025 and 2026, and Växjö is thus one of them.
- The Swedish Championships week is one of Sweden's most popular sports events and it is gratifying that so many strong candidates want to arrange the competitions.
It will be a tough task to appoint the two cities that will receive the assignment in 2025 and 2026, respectively, says Åsa Edlund Jönsson, head of SVT Sports.
Decisions about the host city are made by the Swedish Championship week's steering group consisting of representatives from the Swedish Sports Confederation and SVT.
During September and October, RF and SVT will visit the cities to present no later than 15 November 2022 which cities will be new host cities for the Swedish Championship week in the summer of 2025 and 2026.
