High temperatures at night

The heat wave will extend to the northern regions and will intensify further in the west and Occitania.

South of the Loire to the South-West as in the Mediterranean regions, night temperatures will remain high, between 18 and locally 23 degrees, or even 24/25 around the Gulf of Lion and the lower Rhone Valley. .

Elsewhere, it will be necessary to take advantage of the night cooling because the thermometers will quickly cross the bar of 30 degrees in the morning.

At the hottest of the afternoon, we will expect 36 to 39 degrees from the south of Rhône-Alpes to Provence, over Occitanie, New Aquitaine, the Center to Pays de la Loire and the east of Brittany.

Locally the thermometers will be able to reach, or even exceed, 40 degrees in the shade over a large southwest quarter.

On the Breton tip, in Normandy, Ile de France, Picardy and Burgundy in the center-east, it will be necessary to plan for 33 to 36 degrees.

The heat will be less strong from Nord Pas-de-Calais to the Grand Est with all the same 30 to 33 degrees.

On the sky side, once the rare morning gloom has dissipated on the Aquitaine coast and on the beaches of the Côte d'Azur, a blazing sun will settle over the whole country.

In the afternoon, clouds will be budding over the peaks of the Pyrenees and the southern Alps.

They will give a few showers, even a thunderstorm on the east of the Pyrenean chain.
