In the clip above, you can hear the builders Ola Serneke and Erik Selin, talk about Karlatornet.

We are just over 150 meters up, which will correspond to floor 52. Some may think that may be enough now, but the house will grow by another almost a hundred meters.

And now it's full speed up.

But the construction process has been fraught with worries.

An international financier withdrew, there was a pandemic and apartment buyers demanded money back because the original schedule did not hold.

The whole building seemed to come to a standstill.

- All projects have their challenges and of course the problems can accelerate, says Ola Serneke.

480 apartments sold

That time it looked really dark.

It is no secret that Erik Selin - together with Nordea - came in as something of a saving angel.

- Yes, but otherwise maybe someone else would have done it, he says himself.

The dissatisfied buyers then?

Well, in the end, there were 40-50 cases where the apartments were bought back and came on the market again.

- Now we have sold just over 480 of 610 apartments, and then you should know that not all apartments have been released for sale yet, says Ola Serneke, who himself has long since secured one of the top four apartments, for 66 million.

Business around the clock

Karlatornet is just part of an entire urban area, Karlastaden, where 20,000 people will work and live.

The vision is a vibrant district, with activities and communications around the clock.

In just over two years, the tower is expected to be ready, but the first ones will move in already after next summer.
