The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai announced that the total length of the roads it has completed is currently 18,475 km, which is nearly three times the length of the famous Amazon River, estimated at 6,992 km long, which runs in several countries in the South American continent, including Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia and Venezuela.

The latest and most important projects completed by the authority include the Dubai-Al-Ain road development project, which it opened at the end of last month, at a total cost of two billion dirhams, and was implemented within the framework of the strategic transport plan in the Emirate of Dubai.

The road extends for 17 km, from the intersection of Dubai-Al Ain Road with Emirates Road to the intersection of Bukadra with Ras Al Khor Street.

Seih Al Dahl Road was among the latest road projects completed by the authority. It was also opened last month, and the road linking Seih Al Salam Street and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex was developed and expanded by implementing a new 11 km long road.

One of the most important road projects implemented by the authority in recent years was the road project leading to the Expo 2020 area, which was implemented in six phases at a total cost of three billion dirhams.

The authority is currently working on the implementation of two projects underway as part of the road infrastructure development projects in Dubai, namely the Manama Street Development Project, which includes converting existing roundabouts into signal-controlled intersections, which will be completed next September, and the Academic City Intersection development project on Sheikh Zayed bin Zayed Road. Hamdan Al Nahyan, which is expected to be completed next December, and in the future, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street will be developed, in the extended part of the Academic City, until its intersection with Al Awir Street.
