China News Service, June 15th. A regular press conference of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council was held on the 15th.

Ma Xiaoguang, a spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said that the 2022 Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Overseas Chinese Admissions Test and the independent admissions test for Jinan University and Huaqiao University were successfully completed in mid-to-late May. This year, more than 1,000 Taiwanese students participated in the Joint Admissions Test.

Under the epidemic situation, the examinations were carried out as scheduled and the candidates were able to complete the examinations successfully. Relevant parties have made great efforts, and many heart-warming cases have emerged.

A reporter asked at the meeting that an important way for Taiwanese youth to study and develop in the mainland is to participate in the national joint entrance examination for overseas Chinese from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as the separate entrance examinations for Jinan University and Huaqiao University.

This year, due to the epidemic, the way for Taiwan candidates to take the test has been affected to a certain extent. What assistance has the relevant mainland authorities provided?

In this regard, Ma Xiaoguang said that the 2022 Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Overseas Chinese Admissions Examination and the independent admissions examination of Jinan University and Huaqiao University have been successfully completed in mid-to-late May. This year, more than 1,000 Taiwanese students participated in the Joint Admissions Examination.

Under the epidemic situation, the examinations were carried out as scheduled and the candidates were able to complete the examinations successfully. Relevant parties have made great efforts, and many heart-warming cases have emerged.

As an example, Ma Xiaoguang introduced that due to the outbreak of the epidemic in Shanghai, in line with the attitude of being responsible for the health and safety of candidates, in April this year, the education authorities decided to make appropriate adjustments to the examination work of the Shanghai test center for the JUPAS exam. The non-local candidates must choose another city test center to take the test.

This adjustment involves a total of more than 200 Taiwanese candidates, of which the largest number of Taiwanese students are located in Jiangsu, and will be sent to Guangzhou, Fuzhou and other places to take the test.

In order to fully guarantee the test-taking of Taiwan candidates, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council coordinated the rapid actions of relevant localities as soon as possible and made proper arrangements.

The Taiwan Affairs Office of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Fujian and other provinces and cities will work with relevant departments and key points such as local epidemic prevention and control, airports, hotels, and examination rooms to refine the work process separately, strengthen work connection, and provide maximum assistance and convenience for Taiwan students. .

Shenzhen and Guangzhou Taiwan Affairs Offices have set up special classes for this purpose, providing convenient services in flight rebooking, landing nucleic acid testing, special car connections, and epidemic prevention guidance, giving out warm-hearted gift packages, and forming a full-chain closed-loop transfer to help candidates prepare for the exam safely and at ease. .

Xiamen and Fuzhou are actively doing a good job in the connection work. Xiamen Jimei District, where Huaqiao University is located, has specially formulated an epidemic prevention and control plan for Kunshan Taiwan students to come to Xiamen to ensure smooth connection of all links after the 28 Taiwan students arrive in Xiamen.

Ma Xiaoguang said that after Taiwanese candidates successfully took the exam, the National Taiwan Enterprise Federation and Kunshan Taiwan Association sent letters of thanks. Many Taiwanese students, parents, and teachers expressed their deep gratitude to the relevant departments for opening up the "green channel" and relaying escorts.

A parent of a Taiwanese student said, "The changes in the examination room and travel difficulties brought about by the epidemic made us very uneasy, but the journey was so caring and touching, which not only helped the children, but also warmed the parents' hearts."

Ma Xiaoguang said that he wishes all Taiwanese students to be admitted to the university of their choice and realize their ideals in life.
